A measurement development study on charismatic prophet image: sample of the prophet muhammad

Since Max Weber, the theoretical interest in the problem of charismatic properties of the prophets has been on the rise in sociology of religion. Using valid and reliable quantitative measurement tools, the trend towards the research of the imagination, beliefs and understanding of prophetic charisma in societies has remained very weak. This research aims to the first step towards fullfiling such a need. This research tries to show how can a valid and reliable measurement tool be developed in understanding and explaining attitudes and behaviors related to Muhammad's (pbuh) charismatic structural features? It seeks to understand the problem of what are the different factors or components of the charisma of the Prophet? As a result, in the framework of the charisma theory of the Weberian approach, measurement instruments were developed to measure beliefs and attitudes about the charismatic properties of the Prophet. The four-dimensional, highly valid and reliable measurement of the image charismatic prophethood was obtained: "dimension of charismatic prophethood”, “dimension of charismatic individual”, “dimension of charismatic social”, "dimension of charismatic leadership”. The results of the factor and reliability analysis proves that it is possible to research the charismatic structural features of Muhammad (pbuh) with these developed measurements
