ABSTRACT: The CoFe2O4 (CFO) thin films were deposited on a glass substrate by spray pyrolysis cobalt ferrite aqueous solutions. These are characterized by XRD, Raman, FTIR, FE-SEM with EDAX, AFM, I–V and UV–vis spectroscopy analysis. Thin films are annealed at different temperatures (300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 °C) to enhance the crystallinity of films. The effect of annealing temperature on structural, morphological, elemental and optical properties of the films has been investigated. As the annealing temperature increases, the thin films become more crystalline. The annealed samples show the symmetrical and anti-symmetrical stretching vibrations in Co species. The authors observed the slight shift in Raman modes, good surface morphology, crystallite size of the sample which increases gradually with respect to temperature, good elemental composition and the band gap energy which decreased due to increase in grain size of the CFO thin film.
