Abstract

By the 16th century sailors-Pomors have become the undisputed masters of the Northern seas. It was the time of the highest rise of their activities as seafarers and discoverers. It was then mastered the main highway to the East, northeast and Northwest are many Islands in the Barents sea and the Northern territory, Western Siberia.
