Abstract

The article proves the prerequisites for the formation of a knowledge-based economy. The theoretical aspects of the territorial location of science-intensive spheres are revealed. A spatial approach to localization is promising, since it covers all aspects of the regions’ economy modernization.In this regard, the necessity of forming a regional policy of a new quality is substantiated.
