Descriptive analysis about the concept of combustion in university textbooks

In this paper was made a descriptive analysis of how the university textbooks are organized, how they present the relationship among the concepts combustion, calcination, corrosion, breathing, reduction and oxidation; the form like they think about the questions; the experimentation types that they propose; and eventually to determine if they present historical aspects on the combustion. The methodological aspect was framed in a selection of books and the application of a questionnaire that it contained a series of questions that would guide the analysis. The results show the tendencies of organization of the conceptual content, the little relationship of the concept combustion with other concepts and the absence of historical aspects of this concept.
