Universities and political transitions: the Spanish case in the 60-70 years

This article focuses on the role of the university and the student movement against Franco in the fight for democracy in Spain since the 60s, framed in cultural dynamic (Beat Generation) and international politics (Third Wave). It analyzes the role of the university youth, the opposition political parties, the process of democratizing university and - by extension - the country, concluding with an explanation of the causes of demobilization after 1977.
