The aim of this paper is to examine big data management practices and big data knowledge management (KM) to determine competitive advantage, with the mediating role of innovation capacity. A quantitative approach was followed and PLS-SEM used to test the hypotheses. A total of 589 questionnaires were used for analysis. The results indicated that big data management practices significantly determine big data KM. Moreover, big data KM is positively associated with innovation capacity and competitive advantage. Innovation capacity mediates the relationship between big data KM and competitive advantage. Finally, innovation capacity significantly leads to a competitive advantage. This article offers guidelines for management to enhance competitive advantage to focus on big data management practices, big data KM, and innovation capacity.
