The aim of this work is to identify and to analyze the offensive tactical situations used by the Spanish men handball team in numerical inequality, determining tactical efficiency and tactical relevance in each situation during the European Championships of Serbia 2012 and Denmark 2014. This process was carried out by an observational methodology. Inferiority and superiority situations were analyzed separately, registering the inequality period, the tactical situation played, its tactical efficiency and its result. In numerical inferiority, more situations were taken in 2014 than in 2012, being the main ones the wing crossing, the wing sweeping, the moves combined between the first line players and the line player and the crossing between back and wing players. In numerical superiority, the same number of situations was taken in the two championships, being the main ones the playmaker sweeping and the first line moves with pivot player positioned between the second and third defenders. In 2014 new situations were combined with old ones already used in 2012. Tactical efficiency was similar in both championships.
