Background: In developing countries 85% of the deaths are as a result of road traffic crashes. India accounts for 10% of road accident fatalities Worldwide. This Study was conducted to analyze road traffic accidents and road safety behavior by qualitative and quantitative methods. Methods: The study was carried out on 60 patients of road traffic accident (RTA). Results: Majority of accident victims were in the age group of 20-40 years. Amongst all the victims 51.55% were under 18 years who were not driving, but still met with an accident. This age group forms one of the vulnerable group in road traffic accidents. However, all the drivers were above 18 years of age. More than 80% of drivers mentioned poor road conditions as a cause of the accident. Conclusion: The education of both drivers and vulnerable group below 18 years about the road safety behavior is recommended through media campaigns and health education.
