In this paper, we are going to focus on the Historia de Inglaterra, a text written by Rodrigo de Cuero for Catherine of Aragon between 1502 and 1509. This text, conceived both as a synthesis of the history of England and of the world, is not merely a chronicle. Indeed, through the historical events he mentions, the author means to establish a real mirror for princes, as well as a plead in favour of the marriage of Catherine of Aragon to the future Henry VIII. The Historia therefore seems to have three purposes: first, to teach Catherine the history of her future kingdom; second, to give her advice on how she will have to behave as a queen; last, to demonstrate the legitimacy of the alliance that her wedding shall seal.
