Invasive intravascular aspergillosis leading to myocardial infarction
Abstract
Cardiac dissemination of invasive aspergillosis is a rare, often a fatal consequence of systemic mycosis. We present a heart transplant patient who succumbed to drug resistant aspergillus pneumonia. Myocardial ischemic damage from aspergillus vasculitis was likely the final event.
