Abstract

One of the main concerns which has created a landmark in the history of translation from the seventeenth century to the present is how to remain faithful to the original text. The concern about faithfulness and unfaithfulness in translation has given rise to unnumerous violent gender metaphors. The aim of this article is to bring these metaphors to the surface.
