Ideología y realidad de la Guardia Colombiana, 1863-1885

Abstract

The Guardia Colombiana that existed during the Colombia Federal Era is an unknown institution in historiography. Therefore, this article offers an explanation of some advances about its nature, originated in the contradiction existing between its ideological basis and the reality of the military service as this imposed on the former.
