Abstract
Some Afro-Creole Musical Terms in French Colonial Texts of The Seventeenth and Eighteenth CenturiesThis article attempts to take stock of a number of terms referring to Afro-Creole music in ancient texts. Often cited in historical, ethnomusicological or musicological literature, these terms need to be put into context to better establish the legitimacy of their use.
