In the history of Islam, Kâtib Reşid, who compiled the floating words of the presidents known as the Four Caliphs and explained them in Persian, translated and annotated a hundred aphorisms of Hz. Ali under this name. Later, he added some Arabic explanations to those meanings, first dedicating it to Atsız and then Sultanşah Ebü’l-Kāsım Mahmud b. İl-Arslan. It is the aphorism that Vatvat has translated and explained in this work, chosen and compiled by the famous Arab scholar Câhız (d. 255 / 869). Reşîdüddîn Vatvat’s works on the translation and interpretation of the floating caliphs of the four caliphs, especially those related to the words of Excellency Ali, have been translated into Turkish several times from the 14th or 15th century. Some of these are partial and some are translational and additional translations, which can be considered as complete. It is also known that Matlûbu Külli Tâlib… was translated into Turkish by scholars such as Vardarlı Abdülhâdî Efendi, Kastamonulu Mustafa bin Mehmed (d. 1589-90), Hocazâde Abdülazîz Efendi (1575- 1618) in the 16th and 17th centuries. In this article, about the floating words of the four caliphs, the Sultan II. During the reign of Murad (reign: 1421-1451), a literary text of the translation of the works we mentioned in Reşîdüddîn Vatvat was introduced; then it was translated into Latin letters and today’s Turkish and offered to readers' opinion. A Turkish translation of the four works of Reşîdüddîn Vatvat is registered with the number 650 among the writings of the Mevlana Museum in Konya. In this prose work, there is a Turkish translation of some of the hadiths attributed to the Excellency Prophet and the floating words of the four caliphs following him. The Arabic temmet record at the end of the hadith translations states that the text was written by Bedreddin bin Himmetyârü’l-Mevlevî in Edirne in the month of Ramadan H 838 / M 1435. However, it is not completely clear whether the mentioned date indicates the translation or the time of incident. It is unclear at which date and by whom the translation was created, since the pages of the manuscript containing translations of the floating words of the four caliphs after the hadiths were mixed and some leaves were broken. On the basis of some clues, there is another copy of Sad-Kelimât-ı Çehâr-Yâr-i Güzîn, which is estimated to belong to Bedreddîn bin Himmetyârü’l-Mevlevî. This copy begins with the translation of 100 words of Abu Bakr; unfortunately, it does not contain any information about the name of the translator and the year of translation. In his mentioned work, Kâtib Reşîd, who translated the Arabic phrases of Excellency Ali into Persian, explained briefly under the heading “Arabic meaning of this word”. After the name “Persian meaning of this word” he explained in Persian; Finally, he also stated with a scar in his language. H 838 / M In 1435, when the part of the translated or exploited works related to Excellency Ali’s meanings is read, it is seen that the translator was based on the first form of Matlûbu Külli Tâlib… which does not contain Arabic explanations and does not translate Persian poems. It is also noticed that he started the translation of Arabic phrases belonging to Excellency Ali with the word “ya‘nî”, while he also made overturned sentences with the influence of the Arabic and Persian syntax. The person who translated the aphorisms, as some poets did, did not only follow the way to translate Persian kittens in the work in question into Turkish; he tried to translate the entire booklet as prose. In this article, after the information about the Turkish translation of the mentioned Matlûbu Külli Tâlib… whose translation and translation year is not known precisely; It was also translated into today's Turkish so that non-Ottoman readers can understand it.
