De l’expérience de soi à l’expérience d’une langue. Réflexions sur l’écriture de soi de Christian Prigent
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyse the relation between the personal phantasmatic experience and the experience of the language in Prigent’s Une phrase pour ma mère and Grand-mère Quéquette, from a critical and psycho-anthropological point of view. In these texts the mother appears both as a predator or a model of domination and as a prime source of language. By studying these aspects, we discover that the maternal figure determines a specific bond between the writer and the matter of writing, defining in the same time a problematic rapport with the mother tongue. In this context, the devouring and consuming imageries act as a strong catalyst in the revealing of both linguistic and psychological behaviour of the individual, establishing a fundamental relation between memory, self-identity and language.
