The Context of the Crystallization of the Bucharest School of Sociology in 1936

In this article the author examines Dimitrie Gusti’s actions and publications from 1936, which was the top year for the group conducted by the professor. After a short introduction synthetizing the courses of action developed in the preceding years, the author describes the process through which seminaries, debates, fieldwork endeavours came together gradually and formed the Bucharest School of Sociology. This group, also known as the Monographic School or Gusti School bared all the characteristics of a modern scientific school. In this context the analysis focuses on the establishment, also in 1936, of the Village Museum in Bucharest, as a composing part of the School. The article also makes a short synthesis of the furter evolution of the School
