UJI SITOTOKSISITAS BAHAN CYANOACRYLATE VENEER DENGAN MTT ASSAY
Abstract
The use of acrylic resin restoration basen on methyl methacrylate material in the dentistry, has already been replaced by composite because of certain poor characteristics. Recently, the restoration materials of methyl methacrylate have been re-developed, and made commercially available with cyanoacrylates added. The objective of this study was to investigate the cytotoxic effects of cyanoacrylate veneer materials by 3-(3,4-dimethylthyazol-2yl)-2,5-diphenyl retrazolium biomide (MTT) assay methods. Cyanoacrylate veneer specimens were immersed in eppendorf microtubes with cell culture media for 1, 12, 24 or 48 hour. Culture media were immersed and used to investigate the cytotoxic effect to BHK 21 cell lines by MTT assay method. The density of optic formazan was live indicate a cell. All data were statistically analyzed by one-way ANOVA and HSD Tukey. The results show that the cytotoxic effects between the five immersion were similar but higher than control cell. In conclusion Immersion in cyanoacrylate veneer has a cytotoxic effect to BHK 21 cell lines. The lowest percentage of cells a live after immersion was 86,95%.
