The city, the urban, the place

Abstract

In the table d'hote "The city, the urban, the place" realized in the International Meeting "The citizen's world - a World's Citizen" in homage to professor Milton Santos, I have proposed a review on the historical utilization of these three concepts - that are among the most important ones applied in Geography (although they are not exclusivity of this discipline) by authors that have worked with them. These concepts have different levels of consensus, and they have been questioned by the fast transformations that are occurring in the present world
