THE IMPERFECT PRETÉRITO: THE COMMUNISTS AND THE ACCOUNT OF ACCOUNTS WITH THE PAST. (1943-1964).
Abstract
The objective of this article is to situate and discuss the political formulations of the PCB, between the years 1940 and 1960, in comparison with the self-criticism and the evaluations made by Luís Carlos Prestes. The text is divided into three periods: the period of the "National Union from 1943 to 1948", the period of "overthrow of government" and the period after the denunciations of "Stalin's crimes". All three moments are also seen from the political lines that guided the PCB Actions.
