Objective: to know the perceptions of women with cervical cancer in brachytherapy treatment. Method: it is an exploratory and descriptive study of qualitative approach, with 16 women in brachytherapy treatment at specialized service of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The data collection was conducted in the second half of 2008 through interviews and data analyses with the method of collective subject discourse analysis. Results: from the data collected, extracted central ideas that originated Collective SubjectStatement: Lack of information about treatment with brachytherapy, Brachytherapy: an uncomfortable procedure, and, Believing in healing and having faith in God. Conclusion: the results provide subsidies for best practices in nursing care and highlight the importance of health education activities to guide and inform women with cervical cancer in brachytherapy treatment
