Jeden z pokolenia – Karol Bunsch w walce o wolną Polskę (1915–1920)
Abstract
The subject of this article is to present a very little known life episode of poplar Cracovian writer and lawyer Karol Bunsch. During 1915–1918 period Bunsch fought on the Eastern Front of the Great War (firstly as an ordinary foot solider of so called Pilsudski’s Legions, from 1916 he served in Austro-Hungarian Empire’s Army). After Poland regained independence in 1918 he enrolled to reborn Polish Army and as young infantry officer took part in heavy fights with Ukrainians and Bolsheviks during which he was badly wounded in 1920 but also decorated for bravery. The approaching hundredth anniversary of regaining independence by Poland seems to be a splendid occasion for reminding Bunsch’s service for his motherland.
