The employment landscape in China is currently dominated by the issue of employing college graduates. On one hand, the number of college graduates has consistently surged in recent years. Conversely, the domestic and international economic downturn has exacerbated the already challenging employment situation. Consequently, policymakers must gain a comprehensive understanding of how China's employment priorities are presently being implemented to facilitate timely adjustments. This study aimed to determine the outlook of young professionals working in biotech companies located at Jiangbei New Area, Nanjing, Jiangsu on how well China’s government employment priorities have been adhered and implemented. By focusing specifically on young professionals in this area, this study offers a localized perspective that complements broader national-level analyses. This approach also allows for a deeper understanding of how employment policies are implemented and experienced at the grassroots level within a rapidly evolving industry during the nationwide industrial transformation. Employing a descriptive research design, this study utilized a survey questionnaire as the primary data collection tool, with 200 young professionals participating as respondents. A 5-point Likert scale was employed to evaluate the extent to which biotech companies adhered to employment priorities. Data analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Version 27, with One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) used to test hypotheses. While the study revealed a high overall adherence to the country's employment priorities by biotech companies, it also identified areas for improvement, including the necessity for better quality employment data, analytical tools, and alignment with international standards. Additionally, the study underscored the pivotal role of educational attainment in shaping employment outcomes, addressing an overlooked aspect of workforce dynamics within the biotech sector. By offering actionable recommendations, this study aims to assist policymakers and industry stakeholders in refining and adapting China's employment priorities to navigate the evolving employment landscape effectively. In summary, this study enriches our understanding of the intricate interplay between government policies, industry practices, and individual experiences within the realm of employment in China.
