Abstract

The essay emphasizes the importance of the research carried out from the sixties onwards by the Centre Pierre Paris researchers (Bordeaux III University), among whom Pierre Sillieres occupies a fairly meaningful place. His doctorate on the roads of southern Hispania is still even today a reference work. In the second part of this essay three examples of inscriptions are given (two votive ones and a graphic one), recently discovered, which complete toponymic data borne by the milliary columns connected with the Roman names of three present-day cities in Lusitania : Arronches, Viseu and Alter do Chao.
