Deep Vein Thrombosis Associated with Dengue Fever in an 11 year Boy
Abstract
Dengue fever is a significant public health problem in tropical countries especially in hot summer months. This article reports an 11 year old Indian boy who presented with ileo-femoral deep vein thrombosis associated with serologically confirmed infection with DEN1 dengue virus with no other history or investigation suggestive of a procoagulant state. He was successfully treated with enoxaparin and warfarin with close monitoring of platelet counts, Aptt and anti Xa levels.
