Does the use of the Internet foster a wider variety of cultural practices or does it strengthen those already in place ? The authors’ analyses reveal that in different regions of Quebec, age, level of education and cultural use of the Internet can predict more diversified as well as wider exposure to cultural spaces and events. Furthermore, predictive models that include the Internet as a variable are more insightful than those relying only on socio-demographic data. This would suggest that the Internet is a predictor variable of cultural practices.
