Keterkaitan Faktor Sosial, Ekonomi, Pengetahuan, dan Sikap dengan Manifestasi Perilaku Ibu-ibu Rumah Tangga dalam Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah Tangga di Kota Surabaya

Abstract

The study on the correlation between social, economic, and cultural factors, knowledge and attitudes, and housewives behavioral manifestation in household waste management was carried out in the city of Surabaya from August 1996 to August 1998, involving 224 husewives from 14 kelurahans. Data was collected through observation, tests and interviews. The results show that non-working housewives and those with low level of education had better behavioral manifestation about household waste separation, 3R Program, and household waste extinction. House-wives who had better access to massmedia had higher knowledge about waste management fee and household waste tidiness, and this knowledge increases their behavioral manifestation, Housewives with higher levels of education and better access to massmedia had better attitudes toward waste management fee and household waste tidiness, and these will improve their behavioral manifestation.
