The present paper aims to share some conclusions arisen from a task actually in progress. It consists of an international editing project of the Complete work of Ruben Dario, called “Década dariana” and settled in The Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF, Argentina). Our contribution consists of making the critical edition of Todo al vuelo (1912), the latest miscellaneous volume of Ruben Dario’s chronicles, published during the author’s lifetime in Madrid by Mundo Latino. In this almost unknown book, Dario compiled a selection of texts, with some modifications and in a different order than the sequence in which they had appeared in the newspaper La Nación, a few years before. As it is stated in the title, this time, we will focus on the construction of subjectivity in this process of transcription and reorganization of materials, that we noticed in the comparative work that we have been carrying out between the versions of the chronicles published in the newspaper and in the book, as well as in the analysis of the order in which they are edited in the volume and the sections in which it is organized, among other aspects that have caught our attention. We believe that it is important to highlight that the proposal chosen for our communication responds to the need to focus our gaze on a revealing aspect: the emergence of a subjectivity that escapes mechanical and scarcely creative dynamics. Subjectivity is, at the same time, a carrier of an unusual creativity in front of a wide horizon of very heterogeneous phenomena and processes that arouse the interest and concern of the author and a high awareness of the singular temporality in which he is immersed.
