Objective: In Ayurveda, the concept of Yukti is designated as Pariksha as well as Guna. Yukti is narrated as one of the Pariksha in Chaturvidha pariksha and as Guna in Paradi gunas. The objective of this study was to explain and explore the fundamental concept of Yukti along with its twoway description as Pariksha and Guna in Ayurveda. Data Source: Classical texts of Ayurveda, mainly Charaka Samhita along with its commentaries, and philosophical texts like Tattva Samgraha were referred for this review article. Review Methods: An extensive search of literature was done to collect scattered literary materials on concept of Yukti followed by compilation, rearrangement, and critical analysis. Results and Conclusion: Analysis of scriptures revealed that Yukti pariksha is mandatory for thorough knowledge of diseases and drugs, which forms the base for successful treatment. As a Guna, Yukti is stated as a specialized plan of procedure formulated for the treatment of a specific disease. Different Karanas involved in the production of a Karya can be understood by Yukti pariksha, and to know the process of production of a new Karya, Yukti guna can be applied. In Ayurveda, due to its wide scope and applicability in therapeutics, Yukti is stated as a separate Pariksha and also a Guna which is uncommon in other philosophical and associated scriptures.
