This bibliographic research with an exploratory disposition has as its purpose to expose the main theoretical assumptions of Charles Taylor’s multiculturalism concept. Therefore, this article aims to make a critique, beginning with Charles Taylor’s philosophical thought, to the model of society ordinarily named procedural liberalism, or egalitarian liberalism, in a way that this model don’t coincide, in its claims, to a possible model of liberal society and justice patterns compatibles with the fact of pluralism which characterize contemporary societies.
