Reflection on tourist consumption and travel agencies in Ocaña
Abstract
This research arises from the need to know the tourist capacity of Ocaña and the region, with a view to taking advantage of the opportunities and support that the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has been giving to the municipalities to encourage the creation of organizations that promote tourism, as a line important in the regional and national economy. It is proposed to determine the tourist capacity of Ocaña and its region and identify the companies that are part of the tourism structure, such as travel agencies, in charge of offering packages and disseminating national and international tourism plans and programs, in order to then carry out the diagnosis and present strategies for the development of this sector economic, through the promotion and execution of projects related to the subject. The research is descriptive in nature, where direct observation, document analysis, and in-depth interviews are used as an instrument, which were applied to the owners of travel agencies and found ongoing for the other actors. Within the conclusion it was possible to establish that in Ocaña there are only four agencies, which belong to two owners and that none offers local tourist plans.
