Les « petits dessins » de Persepolis : images du travail dans la fabrique de l’animation

Abstract

The fabrication of animated films, and in particular feature films, often involves a segmented organization of work that determines different distinct stages and involves different specialties. To reflect on this, I focus on the atelier drawings or “little drawings” as they are called by the members of the team, drawings made on the sidelines of the production work, and which inform and question the work in progress. These drawings refer to the animation professions as a whole and highlight their practices and work habits. They constitute comments made by the professionals themselves on their work and on the film. It is this particular point of view that I wish to explore, as a singular access to the world of creation in the animation studio, which passes through the glances of those who compose it, the anxieties as well as the joys that they feel.
