BIODIVERSIDADE: a leitura da vida e a afirmação dos sujeitos
Abstract
The study aims to raise the contradictions of sustainability within capitalism, as well as the own denial of the subjects themselves in the same context. Therefore, we combine knowledge and themes that pass by various areas of knowledge, such as Biology, Law and Sociology. Thus, the economic and social dimensions of sustainability are analyzed in the context of the 21st century market and society. Some topics related to ecological democracy are discussed, aiming to demonstrate the insufficiency of the political contract that inaugurated modernity. The rights of non-human animals are discussed, based on a biocentric vision that violates, for that reason, the hegemonic logic of the market.
