Cittaslow Hareketinde Kadın Girişimciler: Seferihisar Örneği

Abstract

Every city with potential desires to be the subject of tourism. However, certain rules are required to actualize this process in a proper manner. The Cittaslow movement is an opportunity for the local administrations to create sustainable cities. Thus, Seferihisar, the first Cittaslow city in Turkey, is subjected to this study. This study, which scrutinizes the Cittaslow movement in Seferihisar by focusing on women entrepreneurs, aims to reveal the impacts of the Cittaslow movement on women entrepreneurs and how women are affected by this process. Thus, qualitative research methodology and the convenience sampling technique were employed. In-dept hinter views were conducted in semi-structured form with 20 women entrepreneurs. The obtained data were evaluated by content analysis, and the sentences of the interviewees were quoted if necessary. Finding indicate that women entrepreneurs play crucial roles in the realization and sustainability of the Cittaslow movement in Seferihisar, and they benefit from this process considerably.
