Specificities of methodological research in politicology

Abstract

Methodological research is a special type of scientific research, but it is also important to state that all scientific research is, at the same time, methodological. During any scientific research, besides exploring the subject of the research, we also test the concepts of methodology. The subject of special methodological (meta-methodological) research is all actions, processes and activities taken during a research process, especially the procedures of conceptualization and reconceptualization. The question of methodological research is a complex, multi-dimensional, and essential question of relationships between methodology, meta-methodology, meta-theory, and methodological research. Methodological research makes use of all the same methods, techniques, actions and instruments used in other types of scientific research. By studying methodological research we obtain knowledge about the scientific and methodological scope of this research, about its position in the socio-political sphere, and about the norms and rules that apply in the scientific and methodological system.
