Soft power as an instrument for improving position of Serbia in the international environment

Abstract

In the modern world, countries are using a soft power based on communication and cooperation, because it allows them to position themselves, in a peaceful way, as desirable partners in a global context. Soft power results in creation of positive attitudes and images of the country among foreign audiences. The sources of soft power are found in national resources such as: culture, education, global engagement of the state, entrepreneurship, and so on. The paper analyzes the key sources of the soft power of the Republic of Serbia indicating the needs for Serbia to use the soft power more intensively in accordance with its strategic interests and goals.
