SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECTS IN THE WATERSHED RIACHO VAL PARAISO – PB – BRAZIL
Abstract
This study aimed to identify the socioeconomic aspects of watershed Riacho Val Paraiso - PB. That survey was conducted from May 10 to July 15, 2013, containing a sample of 68 families. Elaborated a socioeconomic questionnaire, according to the methodology of Rocha (1997), and applied in the form of interviews in rural communities that are part of the watershed. The results indicated that the age range of interviewed people is above 60 years of age, people have a low education, are owners of the land, the main source of water are boreholes; practice subsistence farming activities, have only hand tools to deal with the land and the income family is supplemented by retirements and / or aid from the federal government.
