Position de recherche sur une méthode de détermination d'un contour urbain

Abstract

After reviewing the main methods of image analysis applied to urban areas, an approach is presented to determine an urban outline by integrating the zones of mixed land use to those of the built-up urban area. This method of delimitation has the advantage that it can be applied to any urban settlement and consequently makes possible a comparison of urban structures and dynamics in different regional or national contexts.
