The Al-Irsyad Islamic boarding school educational institution in Salatiga requires its students to use Arabic as foreign speakers. With the presence of Arabic as a foreign speaker, teachers have a learning strategy so that students are fluent in using Arabic. This research method uses descriptive qualitative by collecting data using an information collection strategy using interviews with Arabic language instructors, perceptions by going directly into the action area and documentation. The results of this research, the learning strategy used is a) Vocabulary Provision Strategy (mufradat) listening to words and pronouncing words, reading and writing, the teacher will give orders to santri to make perfect sentences both orally and in writing. b) Direct Learning Strategy is where the teacher explains the material directly using Arabic. c) Strategy for Selecting Learning Methods is by methodrule(grammar) and translation, group language learning, total physical response, audiolingual method (Sam’iyyah Syafahiyyah), eclectic method (tarīqah al-intiqāiyyah). d) Communicative Approach (madkhal ittisālī) with mastery of meaning (nosi/fikrah) is very important, so that the content of the lesson is presented in context.
