Abstract

On vise à travers les pages qui suivent à donner une relecture des Idéologues et de la revue de La Décade comme mouvement d’où jaillit l’économie politique de Jean-Baptiste Say, qui de ces milieux fit partie et dont il marqua les caractères. J.-B. Say aura contribué sa vie durant à l’établissement de la République sans accepter de places officielles dans l’appareil d’État, sans titres de noblesse (comme nombre d’autres Idéologues). Son républicanisme s’est fondé sur le développement et la diffusion des connaissances du fonctionnement de la société dans toute la population dont la Décade a été un instrument important. English Title and Abstract Jean-Baptiste Say, the Ideologues and the Décade philosophique politique et littéraire The following pages aim to propose a re-reading of the Ideologues and of their journal La Décade as a movement from which sprang the political economy of Jean-Baptiste Say, who was part of these circles and who contributed to define their characters. J.-B. Say contributed during his whole lifetime to the establishment of the Republic, without accepting official seats in the state apparatus, and without any titles of nobility (like many other Ideologues). His republicanism was based on the development and dissemination of knowledge about the functioning of society throughout the population, and La Décade was an important instrument of this process.
