An approximate analytical solution of a problem concerning the radiation of electromagnetic waves by regular and biconical dipoles with constant and variable complex distributed surface impedance and arbitrary excitation is derived. Solution correctness is confirm by satisfactory agreement of experimental and numerical results from well-known literary sources. Numerical results are given for the input characteristics and radiation fields of the dipoles in the cases of its symmetric and asymmetric excitation by a point source.
