The objective of this paper is to present a review of the work edited by João A. Telles, which is organized into ten chapters whose thematic discuss about the initial and continuing formation of language teachers. The contributions are very important due to the constant need to seek continuing education of teachers as well as to seek to offer an increasingly consistent initial training with the reality of basic education schools.
