Les diasporas à l’heure des technologies de l’information et de la communication : petit état des savoirs
Abstract
To what extent Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) allow diasporas to stay connected with their relatives who have stayed behind, or with the realities of their home country ? How these populations use Internet in order to get their voices heard in their host country as well as in their homeland ? Since the second half of the 1990s, a growing literature has developed, that studies the complex relations existing between diasporas and ICTs, and which is largely organized around these questions. The aim of this paper is to analyze, with a critical perspective, this literature to assess both its strengths and limits.
