In this paper reading promotion activities are presented from the research project: Language and reading in the education of the personality of the high school students and higher pedagogical students and the Professorship of Reading and Writing of the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences of the University of Matanzas, with the objective of contributing to the development of reading habits from different pedagogical settings, in which there is an approach towards reading for all the university staff, without distinction, searching for a road to spiritual self-perfection.
