This article presents an experience report of trainee in Mathematics from the University Centre of Maringá (UNICESUMAR), Rio Grande / RS, Brazil, which consisted in the assembly of geometric solids using manipulative material, such as jellybeans (rubber bullets candy) and small wooden cocktail sticks , in a class from the ninth grade of Elementary School of a public school in the south of Rio Grande do Sul, based on a video available on the Youtube platform (Andrade, 2011). The study is mainly based on Libâneo, creator of the term "critical social of the contents pedagogy", and Du Sautoy, professor of mathematics at the University of Oxford. The practice aimed to develop with students an experimental class about Euler’s formula, applied during the class time. At the end of the practice, the students assembled the geometric solids quickly, identifying the numbers of faces, vertices and edges.
