Internet e telefonia móvel no Brasil: qualidade e densidade das redes no território

Abstract

This paper discusses the maps produced by Professor Hervé Théry in the second quarter of 2024 on internet and mobile telephony in Brazil, covering the topics of Fixed broadband internet density, 4G/5G mobile internet coverage, Mobile telephony density and Mobile internet quality. The spatialized data provided an insight into the situation regarding unequal support in the territory for the provision of internet connection services and the quality of access, linked above all to population density, the accumulation of wealth and the density of technical networks in metropolitan regions. These maps are part of the preparation of the 4th edition of the Atlas of Brazil, to be published by Edusp in 2025.
