К изучению исторической топографии средневековой Керчи: византийская каменная икона из «Нового Карантина»

Abstract

The article is devoted Christian stone icon, found on the ancient settlement Mirmekiy (in the XIX century area “Noviy Karantin”). Published in 1896, it is a long time attracted the attention of researchers. Meanwhile, a new analysis of the content of the icon and not a coincidence it finds on the site of the ancient city Mirmekiy suggests the operation here in XIII-XIV centuries not known before the Christian church complex, associated with the existing coastal point Pondiko from Italian portolanes. Thus, the Christian topography of Kerch (Vosporo) and its neighborhood of late Byzantine times complemented, except for the church of St John the Baptist in the historic part of the city and the temple on Zolotoye settlement (coastal point Dzukalai), new Christian temple complex. We can assume the existence of the same religious complexes in other monuments of the region, whose population is mostly Christianity confessed.
