Coordinated control technology is pivotal to the efficient and reliable operation of DC microgrids. At present, the sector is more concerned with the coordinated power control of simple DC microgrids based on two-port interconnection devices in contrast to that of multi-port DC microgrids. A multi-port DC converter topology consisting of a PV terminal, medium and low voltage DC terminal, load terminal and so on is proposed, and the operating characteristics, power control capability and operation modes of each port and the switching scheme are analyzed. The multi-mode switching and steady-state operation simulation are verified on MATLAB/Simulink platform. The analysis results show that the control method can realize the reasonable energy distribution of multi-port converters and coordinated control of DC voltage and ensure the reliability of the system under different operating modes.
