Le cinéma contemporain et les territoires urbains en mutation : la capacité créatrice en question, pistes de réflexion sur le cas parisien

Abstract

Is Paris still cinematographic? To ask this question as a geographer leads to reflect on the symbolization process of the Parisian metropolis. Creativity can be explored by tracing interactions between the real city and the cinematic one. This paper first puts the emphasis on how the moviemakers can (ou cannot) renew the city’s filmed image, then focuses on the way new urban and architectural spaces (Paris Rive Gauche) are represented in films.
