Abstract
This essay reflects critically on the recent phenomenon of Brazilianproduction, contextualizing the release of films and cultural studies that base theirassertions. The theoretical contributions make reference to the history of documentary,classical cinema and cinéma verité, and theories of documentary filmmaking by Ramos(2008) and Nichols (2005).
